Welcome to SIGGRAPH 2026

Submit to the Student Volunteer Program

The SIGGRAPH 2026 Student Volunteer program provides integral operational support to the conference.

Student Volunteers play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the conference, bringing together a diverse and inclusive mix of perspectives that enrich the experience for all attendees. Student Volunteers’ motivation and enthusiasm reflect the aspirations of the next generation of computer graphics and interactive techniques. While supporting the conference, as a Student Volunteer, you will gain unique insight to the latest in technology and innovation; meet and learn from professionals, creators, educators, visionaries, and fellow students; and receive an enriching, career-building, and often life-changing, experience.

This very special experience is available to students 18 years of age or older (on or before 14 May 2026) who are/were enrolled full time as a high school, undergraduate, or graduate student for at least one semester between June 2025 and September 2026.

Evaluation

After the Tuesday, 13 January 2026 Team Leader application deadline, all Student Volunteer Team Leader applicants are considered by the Student Volunteer Subcommittee (SVSC). We’re looking for candidates who have experience in leadership roles, customer service, volunteerism, other service-oriented activities and have previously been a SIGGRAPH or SIGGRAPH Asia Student Volunteer. Team Leader selection notifications will be sent in late February 2026.

After the Tuesday, 10 February 2026 Student Volunteer application deadline, all Student Volunteer applicants are evaluated through a blind jurying process that lasts from March to mid-April. Student Volunteer applications are judged on quality, clarity, proper completion, and thoughtfulness. We’re looking for candidates who can communicate effectively, provide support, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and bring enthusiasm, a passion for service, and unique value to collaborate with a diverse and inclusive team. All candidates must be able to communicate fluently in English.

All Student Volunteer applicants with completed applications will be notified of decisions by mid-April 2026. Accepted Student Volunteers will be required to confirm their position by late April 2026.

Expectations

Student Volunteers and Team Leaders are required to complete training provided by the Student Volunteer Program after accepting a position.

Student Volunteers and Team Leaders will serve the conference via pre-conference shifts and/or shifts during the conference (at SIGGRAPH 2026 in Los Angeles).

Student Volunteers commit to volunteering about 25 hours to provide operational support for SIGGRAPH 2026 in pre-conference shifts and/or shifts during the conference. In exchange for their service and enthusiasm, Student Volunteers receive a full conference registration pass for the conference, networking opportunities, and a number of exclusive Student Volunteer-only benefits which have historically included access to special student sessions, software trials, and exclusive merchandise.

Team Leaders are expected to volunteer about 60 hours to provide operational and logistical support for SIGGRAPH 2026 pre-conference shifts or shifts during the conference. In exchange for their service and enthusiasm, Team Leaders receive a full conference registration pass for the conference, networking opportunities, and a number of exclusive Student Volunteer-only benefits.

We hold ourselves and our Student Volunteers to the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and respect. It is essential that all individuals involved in the conference—including attendees, volunteers, contributors, and contractors—are treated with courtesy and dignity. We are committed to fostering an environment that is inclusive, welcoming, and conducive to productive collaboration. Any breach of these expectations, whether through unprofessional conduct, disrespectful behavior, threats, harassment, or failure to comply with the guidelines, will not be tolerated. Such actions undermine the spirit of cooperation that defines our community and could lead to removal from the program. Additionally, any violation may also result in the revocation of access to the conference and its associated events.

Important Points to Note:

  • You are expected to participate in SIGGRAPH 2026 all day from 19-23 July 2026 in Los Angeles, California.
  • DO NOT plan to depart the Los Angeles Convention Center earlier than 6 pm (GMT-8) on 23 July 2026.
  • No housing or hotel accommodation will be provided to Team Leaders or Student Volunteers.
  • Student Volunteers and Team Leaders can opt to apply for travel assistance on their application form (it is not a separate application). Travel assistance may be provided based on the Student Volunteer program’s availability of funds and on eligibility, which is determined on a case-by-case basis based solely on financial need. Assistance goes through a blind jury process; it is not based on nationality or country/location of residence; anyone can apply, and everyone will be considered equally. Funds are limited and assistance is not guaranteed. Decisions on financial aid are made after the conclusion of the SV selection process, and funds awarded will be made available after the conclusion of the conference. Due to the extensive nature of the review process and the volume of applicants, requests received outside of the application process will not be considered.

More details on what involves being a Student Volunteer will be provided during the upcoming months. We encourage you to visit our FAQs sections to stay abreast of the latest updates regarding the Student Volunteer program.

If you have any questions regarding the program and processes, please email SV-s2026@siggraph.org.
